The importance of traveling was instilled in me at an early age. My parents and I would take 3 weeks every summer to drive our van “out west.” By the time I was 10 I had been from coast to coast and racked up a lot of road mileage. We stayed in hotels, motels, tents, and vans. I learned to sleep to the noise of an ice machine down the hall as well as the sound of coyotes screaming at night.
