I’d like to take a moment to recognize my favorite traveling companion, she goes everywhere with me. On road trips she rides shotgun close by my side. Each day we wake up together and make our daily commute. She’s always at my desk to help me get through my work. At the end of each day as I lie down to sleep she’s there to tuck me in. Yep, I’m not ashamed to say it, Diet Coke is the woman for me.
When I was younger, her calorie laden brother was my best friend. We had every meal together, played at the park together, and simply enjoyed life together. But alas when I turned 26 my metabolism slowed and I began to gain weight. “When I grew up, I put away childish things.” Anyway the red can just doesn’t go with my daily business attire. It’s a little too flashy, perhaps a bit ostentatious. But Diet Coke’s silver can? Classy. Just those letters and that little ribbon of red to accessorize. And because of the increasing sleep issues I have, just for me, at 4:00pm she slips into a beautiful, golden, caffeine free gown. She loves me as much as I love her.
I’ve always been told I look younger than I am. I work at a University, and even though I’m 37, I have had two students’ parents last semester ask what year in school I’m at. I like to think it’s Diet Coke and her many preservatives that keep me looking so fresh. Maybe I’m on the way to pickling myself.
So how much do I drink? If it’s true that all things should be done in moderation, I’m in trouble. It wouldn’t be rare for me to drink 5 or 6 a day. Some of you might find this gross, others may worry about my health. Fear not! I’ve recently learned that Coke is good for you! Please watch the video below and then go enjoy a frosty, refreshing Coca-Cola. A large corporation would never lie to get at our money.
